(Ages 2-9, Summer)
Mary's Montessori School runs Dirt Camp in the summer to serve our famiies, siblings, and former and outside friends. We serve ages 2-9 in order to allow siblings to come to Camp together, and to see old friends. We have Mary's School current staff and students come in the summer to play. We have daily visits from local folks who serve others or share their passions, like: animals, crafts, music, games, sports, and art. We have lots of free time, water, sand and friends.
If you are interested in exploring Montessori education in general, or Mary's School in particular, please start by making an observation. Observation guidelines can be read from the Home page, but, briefly, they are best when 1) without children (so you watch us and don't worry about what your child is doing/not doing) 2) brief (30 minutes) 3) during our "work time" (not outside, not during lunch), between 8:45 and 10:30, and 4) that you understand that we will not interact with you, we will "do what we do" so that you can watch that.
If you are intrigued, which we hope you are, please let us know (while you are with us, or afterwards, in a call or email) when you would like to schedule a follow-up meeting with Mary. If your child is almost 2 or older, we may ask for a "visit the school" day. I will attempt to answer all your questions, talk about Montessori (one of my favorite subjects!), and see if we may be a good fit for your family. Applications may be offered after this meeting. They are not available from the website.
We take applications at any time of the year, and openings can occur once the school year has started, or at semester breaks.
Our current enrollment options are 5 days a week ($349 a month) or 4 days a week ($294 a month). I have found in my 17 years of teaching that more consistency in school attendance always serves children better.
